Description

Indulge in this classic melt-in-your-mouth Vanilla Fudge! Made with simple ingredients like sugar, butter, and sweetened condensed milk, this creamy, delicious treat is perfect for sharing. It’s vegetarian, gluten-free, and an absolute crowd-pleaser.

Ingredients

Units Scale

Baking & Spices:

  • 3 cups sugar
  • 2 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1/4 tsp salt

Dairy:

  • 125 g butter (unsalted)
  • 1/2 can sweetened condensed milk (approximately 200g)
  • 1/2 cup milk

Instructions

  • Prepare the Pan:
    • Line an 8×8-inch (20×20 cm) square baking dish with parchment paper, leaving extra on the sides for easy removal.
  • Combine Ingredients:
    • In a heavy-bottomed saucepan, combine sugar, butter, condensed milk, and milk. Add the salt.
  • Cook the Mixture:
    • Heat the mixture over medium heat, stirring constantly until the sugar dissolves.
    • Bring to a boil, then reduce heat to low. Continue cooking, stirring frequently, until the mixture reaches soft ball stage (240°F or 116°C on a candy thermometer).
  • Add Vanilla and Beat:
    • Remove from heat and stir in the vanilla extract. Let cool slightly, then beat the mixture with a wooden spoon or electric mixer until it thickens and loses its gloss (about 3-5 minutes).
  • Pour and Set:
    • Quickly pour the mixture into the prepared baking dish, spreading it evenly.
    • Allow the fudge to cool at room temperature for 1-2 hours, then transfer to the refrigerator to set completely.
  • Cut and Serve:
    • Once firm, lift the fudge out using the parchment paper and cut it into 24 squares. Serve and enjoy!

Notes

  • Soft Ball Stage: If you don’t have a candy thermometer, drop a small amount of the mixture into cold water. It should form a soft ball that flattens when removed.
  • Storage: Store fudge in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 1 week or in the refrigerator for up to 2 weeks.
  • Variations: Add crushed nuts, chocolate chips, or sprinkles for extra flavor and texture.
