Description

Crispy, boat-shaped Turkish flatbread filled with melty cheese and fresh herbs—perfect for a savory snack or meal.

Ingredients

Units Scale
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp sugar
  • 1 tsp yeast
  • 3/4 cup warm water
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1/2 cup feta cheese, crumbled
  • 1 egg yolk (for brushing)
  • 1 tbsp fresh parsley, chopped

Instructions

  • In a bowl, mix yeast, sugar, and warm water. Let sit for 5-10 minutes until foamy.
  • Add flour, salt, and olive oil. Knead until smooth and elastic. Cover and let rise for 1 hour or until doubled in size.
  • Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C).
  • Divide dough into four portions and roll each into an oval shape.
  • Mix mozzarella and feta cheese, then spread the mixture in the center of each oval.
  • Fold the edges slightly over the filling, pinching the ends to create a boat shape.
  • Brush the edges with egg yolk.
  • Bake for 18-20 minutes until golden and crispy.
  • Garnish with chopped parsley and serve warm.

Notes

  • For extra flavor, add a sprinkle of red pepper flakes or a drizzle of olive oil before serving.
  • Pide pairs well with a side of yogurt or a fresh salad.
