Description

These Melt-in-Your-Mouth Snowball Cookies are buttery, tender, and perfectly sweet. Made with sweetened condensed milk and coated in powdered sugar, these crowd-pleasing treats are perfect for holidays or any special occasion.

Ingredients

Scale

For the Dough:

  • 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 can (14 oz) sweetened condensed milk
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder

For Coating:

  • 1 cup confectioner’s sugar

Instructions

  1. Preheat the Oven:
    • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Make the Dough:
    • In a large mixing bowl, cream together the softened butter and sweetened condensed milk until smooth and creamy.
    • Gradually add the flour and baking powder, mixing until a soft dough forms.
  3. Shape the Cookies:
    • Roll the dough into small 1-inch balls and place them on the prepared baking sheet, spacing them about 2 inches apart.
  4. Bake:
    • Bake in the preheated oven for 12-15 minutes, or until the bottoms are lightly golden. The tops should remain pale.
  5. Coat in Powdered Sugar:
    • Remove the cookies from the oven and let them cool slightly for 5 minutes. While still warm, roll each cookie in confectioner’s sugar until fully coated.
  6. Cool Completely:
    • Allow the cookies to cool completely on a wire rack. For a snowier look, roll the cookies in powdered sugar a second time once fully cooled.

Notes

  • Storage: Store in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 1 week.
  • Freezing: Freeze uncoated cookies for up to 2 months. Thaw and coat in powdered sugar before serving.
  • Flavor Variations: Add 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract or almond extract for a flavor boost.
