Description

Soft, buttery, and dusted with powdered sugar, these Sweetened Condensed Milk Snowball Cookies are the ultimate melt-in-your-mouth treat. Perfect for holidays, tea parties, or any special occasion, they’re made with just 5 simple ingredients.

Ingredients

Units Scale

Baking & Spices:

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 1 cup confectioner’s sugar (for dusting)

Dairy:

  • 1 cup butter, softened
  • 1 can sweetened condensed milk (14 oz)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the Oven:
    • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or lightly grease it.
  2. Mix the Dough:
    • In a large mixing bowl, cream the softened butter until smooth.
    • Gradually mix in the sweetened condensed milk until fully combined.
    • Add the flour and baking powder to the bowl. Stir until a soft dough forms.
  3. Shape the Cookies:
    • Roll small portions of the dough (about 1 tablespoon) into balls and place them on the prepared baking sheet, spacing them about 1 inch apart.
  4. Bake:
    • Bake in the preheated oven for 10-12 minutes or until the bottoms are lightly golden. Avoid overbaking to keep the cookies soft.
  5. Dust with Sugar:
    • Let the cookies cool slightly, then roll them in confectioner’s sugar while still warm.
    • Allow the cookies to cool completely, then roll them again in powdered sugar for a second coating.
  6. Serve:
    • Enjoy immediately or store in an airtight container for up to a week.

Notes

  • Variations: Add chopped nuts, coconut, or chocolate chips to the dough for a twist.
  • Storage: Store at room temperature in an airtight container. For longer storage, freeze cookies without the powdered sugar coating. Dust with sugar after thawing.
  • Holiday Tip: These cookies make excellent gifts when packaged in festive boxes or tins.
