Description

Turn up the heat on your brunch game with these Spicy Maple Pancakes—mini stacks of fluffy buttermilk pancakes drizzled with cayenne-cinnamon infused maple syrup. Sweet, spicy, and totally Aries-approved, they’re perfect for bold birthday brunches, zodiac-themed celebrations, or a cozy morning with fire sign flair.

Ingredients

For the Pancakes:

  • 1 cup all-purpose flour

  • 2 tbsp sugar

  • 1 tsp baking powder

  • 1/2 tsp baking soda

  • 1/4 tsp salt

  • 3/4 cup buttermilk

  • 1 large egg

  • 1 tbsp melted butter

  • 1/2 tsp vanilla extract

  • Optional: rainbow sprinkles (folded into batter or for topping)

For Spicy Maple Syrup:

  • 1/2 cup pure maple syrup

  • 1/4 tsp cayenne pepper (adjust to taste)

  • 1/2 tsp cinnamon

  • Pinch of sea salt

  • Optional: 1 pat of butter for extra richness

Toppings (Optional):

  • Whipped cream or butter pats

  • Confetti sprinkles or edible stars

  • Birthday candles for festive presentation

Instructions

Make the Pancake Batter:

  1. In a bowl, whisk together flour, sugar, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.

  2. In a separate bowl, mix buttermilk, egg, melted butter, and vanilla extract.

  3. Combine wet and dry ingredients just until mixed—do not overmix.

  4. If using, fold in rainbow sprinkles for a fun Aries twist.

Cook the Pancakes: 5. Heat a non-stick skillet or griddle over medium heat and lightly grease.
6. Pour 2 tbsp of batter for each mini pancake. Cook 1–2 minutes per side until golden and fluffy.
7. Stack in sets of 4–5 for serving.

Make the Spicy Maple Syrup: 8. In a small saucepan, heat maple syrup with cayenne, cinnamon, and sea salt over low heat for 2–3 minutes.
9. Stir in butter if using. Keep warm.

Assemble & Serve: 10. Drizzle spicy maple syrup over each pancake stack.
11. Top with whipped cream, sprinkles, or edible stars. Add a birthday candle for an Aries celebration-worthy touch.

Notes

  • Adjust cayenne for desired spice level—start small and build up.
