Description

Fierce, fizzy, and full of Aries attitude, the Spicy Citrus Fizz blends bold blood orange juice with jalapeño simple syrup and sparkling lime soda. Topped with citrus and a chili-lime sugared rim, this zesty mocktail delivers a perfect punch of sweet heat—ideal for astrology parties, birthdays, or any fiery celebration.

Ingredients

For the Mocktail:

  • 1/2 cup freshly squeezed blood orange juice

  • 1 tbsp jalapeño simple syrup (see recipe below)

  • 1/2 cup chilled lime soda (or sparkling water with a splash of lime juice)

  • Ice cubes

  • 1 slice of blood orange or lime, for garnish

  • Tajín or chili powder + sugar, for rimming the glass

For the Jalapeño Simple Syrup (yields extra):

  • 1/2 cup sugar

  • 1/2 cup water

  • 1 fresh jalapeño, sliced

Instructions

Make the Jalapeño Syrup:

  1. In a small saucepan, combine sugar, water, and sliced jalapeño.

  2. Bring to a boil while stirring to dissolve the sugar.

  3. Simmer for 2–3 minutes, then remove from heat.

  4. Cool, strain out the jalapeños, and store in the fridge until ready to use.

Make the Mocktail: 5. Rim a lowball glass with lime juice, then dip into a mix of Tajín and sugar.
6. Fill the glass with ice cubes.
7. Add blood orange juice and jalapeño syrup.
8. Top with lime soda and stir gently to combine.
9. Garnish with a blood orange or lime slice. Serve immediately.

Notes

  • Adjust syrup to control the heat level—add more for a bigger kick.

  • For a sweeter version, use lemon-lime soda instead of sparkling water.

  • Jalapeño syrup keeps for up to 1 week in the refrigerator.
