Description

This Smoky Beef and Bean Chili is a hearty and flavorful dish, packed with ground beef, kidney beans, and pinto beans, all simmered in a rich blend of smoked paprika, chili powder, and cumin. With a deep, smoky flavor and a touch of spice, this comforting chili is perfect for cold nights, game days, or a satisfying family dinner.

Ingredients

Units Scale
  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1 can kidney beans, drained
  • 1 can pinto beans, drained
  • 1 can diced tomatoes
  • 1 small onion, chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tbsp chili powder
  • 1 tsp smoked paprika
  • 1/2 tsp cumin
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/2 cup beef broth
  • 1/4 cup finely chopped red onions (for topping)

Instructions

  1. Brown the Beef: In a large pot over medium heat, cook the ground beef until browned. Drain excess fat.
  2. Sauté Aromatics: Add chopped onions, garlic, chili powder, smoked paprika, cumin, and salt. Stir and cook until fragrant.
  3. Simmer the Chili: Stir in kidney beans, pinto beans, diced tomatoes, and beef broth. Reduce heat and let simmer for 30 minutes, stirring occasionally.
  4. Serve & Garnish: Ladle into bowls and top with finely chopped red onions for a fresh crunch.

Notes

  • Add chipotle powder for an extra smoky kick.
  • For a thicker chili, mash some of the beans before serving.
  • Serve with cornbread, tortilla chips, or a dollop of sour cream.
