Description
These pink sugared cherry bites are adorable, sparkly, and sweet little treats made from maraschino cherries dipped in syrup and rolled in pink sugar. Perfect for parties, romantic events, or as eye-catching garnishes for cocktails and desserts.
Ingredients
-
1 jar maraschino cherries with stems, well drained
-
1/4 cup light corn syrup or simple syrup
-
1/2 cup pink sanding sugar or edible glitter sugar
-
Parchment paper, for setting
Instructions
-
Thoroughly drain maraschino cherries and gently pat them dry with paper towels to remove excess moisture.
-
Pour the corn syrup or simple syrup into a small bowl. Add pink sanding sugar to a separate shallow dish.
-
Holding each cherry by the stem, dip the fruit into the syrup to coat it lightly.
-
Immediately roll the syrup-coated cherry in the pink sugar until evenly covered.
-
Place each sugared cherry on a parchment-lined tray to dry and set.
-
Repeat the process with all cherries. Allow them to sit for 15–30 minutes until the sugar hardens slightly.
-
Serve as a festive party bite or use as a garnish for cocktails, cakes, or dessert platters.
Notes
-
Drying the cherries well is key to getting the sugar to stick properly.
-
Try red or gold sugar for different themes or holidays.
-
These can be made a few hours in advance and stored uncovered in a cool, dry spot.
