Ingredients

Scale

For the Chicken Patties

  • 1 lb ground chicken
  • 1/2 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1 egg
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/4 cup onion, finely chopped
  • 2 tbsp fresh parsley or cilantro, chopped
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper
  • 1 tsp paprika
  • 1/2 tsp ground cumin
  • 1 tbsp olive oil (for cooking)

For Assembling the Burgers

  • Burger buns, toasted
  • Lettuce leaves
  • Tomato slices
  • Red onion slices
  • Cheese (optional)
  • Mayonnaise, mustard, or preferred sauce

Instructions

1. Prepare the Chicken Patties

  • In a large bowl, combine ground chicken, breadcrumbs, egg, garlic, onion, parsley, salt, black pepper, paprika, and cumin.
  • Mix until just combined, being careful not to overwork the meat.
  • Divide into 4 equal portions and shape them into burger patties.

2. Cook the Chicken Burgers

Grilling Method:

  • Preheat the grill to medium heat and lightly grease the grates.
  • Grill patties for 5-6 minutes per side, or until they reach an internal temperature of 165°F (75°C).

Pan-Frying Method:

  • Heat 1 tbsp olive oil in a skillet over medium heat.
  • Cook patties for 5-6 minutes per side, ensuring they are golden brown and cooked through.

Baking Method:

  • Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
  • Place patties on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
  • Bake for 20-25 minutes, flipping halfway through.

3. Assemble the Burgers

  • Toast the burger buns for extra flavor.
  • Spread mayonnaise, mustard, or your favorite sauce on the bottom bun.
  • Add lettuce, a chicken patty, tomato slices, red onion, and cheese (if using).
  • Top with the other bun and enjoy!

Notes

  • For extra moisture, add 1 tbsp of mayonnaise to the burger mix.
  • Swap breadcrumbs for panko for a crispier texture.
  • Use ground turkey instead of chicken for a variation.
  • Store leftovers in the fridge for up to 3 days or freeze patties for up to 2 months.
