Ingredients

Units Scale
  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1 can kidney beans, drained
  • 1 can diced tomatoes
  • 1 small onion, chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tbsp chili powder
  • 1 tsp cumin
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 cup corn chips (Fritos)
  • 1/2 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1/4 cup sour cream
  • 2 tbsp green onions, chopped

Instructions

  • Brown the Beef: In a large pot, cook the ground beef over medium heat until browned. Drain excess fat.
  • Sauté Aromatics: Add chopped onions and minced garlic, cooking until softened.
  • Simmer the Chili: Stir in diced tomatoes, kidney beans, chili powder, cumin, salt, and pepper. Simmer for 20 minutes, stirring occasionally.
  • Assemble & Serve: Spoon hot chili into bowls and top with corn chips, cheddar cheese, sour cream, and chopped green onions.

Notes

  • Swap ground beef for ground turkey or plant-based crumbles for a lighter version.
  • Add jalapeños or hot sauce for extra heat.
  • Serve inside individual Frito bags for a fun, portable twist on walking tacos!
