This Ginger Soy Glazed Cod is a flavorful and healthy dinner option, combining the delicate taste of cod with a sweet, savory, and tangy glaze. Made with fresh ginger, soy sauce, and honey, this easy seafood dish is perfect for a light yet satisfying meal.

Ingredients

Units Scale

For the Cod:

  • 4 pieces cod fillets
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon fresh ginger, grated
  • 2 green onions, chopped
  • 1 lime, cut into wedges

For the Glaze:

  • 1/4 cup soy sauce (low sodium recommended)
  • 2 tablespoons honey
  • 2 tablespoons rice vinegar
  • 1 tablespoon sesame oil
  • 1 tablespoon sesame seeds

For Garnish:

  • Fresh cilantro, chopped

Instructions

Step 1: Prepare the Glaze

  1. In a small bowl, whisk together the soy sauce, honey, rice vinegar, sesame oil, garlic, and ginger until well combined.

Step 2: Marinate the Cod

  1. Place the cod fillets in a shallow dish and pour half of the glaze over them. Let marinate for 15-20 minutes.

Step 3: Cook the Cod

  1. Heat a large skillet over medium heat and add a light drizzle of sesame oil.
  2. Remove the cod from the marinade (discard used marinade) and cook for 3-4 minutes per side, or until the fish is opaque and flakes easily with a fork.

Step 4: Add the Glaze & Serve

  1. Pour the remaining glaze over the cooked cod and let simmer for 1-2 minutes until slightly thickened.
  2. Sprinkle with sesame seeds, chopped green onions, and fresh cilantro.
  3. Serve with lime wedges on the side.

Notes

  • Serving Suggestions: Pair with steamed rice, quinoa, or stir-fried vegetables for a complete meal.
  • Make it Spicy: Add a pinch of red pepper flakes or a drizzle of sriracha for extra heat.
  • Storage: Store leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 2 days.
