Description

A smoky twist on classic guacamole, featuring grilled avocados, onions, limes, and jalapeños for a bold, charred flavor that enhances every bite. Perfect for summer BBQs, parties, or as a flavorful dip!

Ingredients

Units Scale
  • 4 ripe avocados, halved and pitted
  • 1/2 red onion, peeled and sliced into 1/2-inch thick rounds
  • 2 limes, halved
  • 1 jalapeño pepper, halved and seeded
  • 1/2 cup cherry tomatoes, halved
  • 1/4 cup fresh cilantro, chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon ground cumin
  • Salt and freshly ground black pepper, to taste
  • Olive oil, for brushing

Instructions

Preheat the Grill

  • Set your grill to medium-high heat.

2️⃣ Prepare the Ingredients

  • Brush the avocados, onion slices, lime halves, and jalapeño with olive oil.
  • Season lightly with salt and pepper.

3️⃣ Grill the Ingredients

  • Place the avocados, onions, limes (cut side down), and jalapeño on the grill.
  • Grill for about 5 minutes, or until char marks appear.
  • Turn the onions and jalapeño as needed for even charring.
  • Remove from the grill and let cool slightly.

4️⃣ Assemble the Guacamole

  • Scoop the grilled avocado flesh into a bowl and mash to your desired consistency.
  • Dice the grilled onion and jalapeño; add them to the mashed avocados.
  • Squeeze the grilled limes over the mixture.
  • Fold in the cherry tomatoes, cilantro, garlic, and cumin.
  • Season with additional salt and pepper to taste.

5️⃣ Serve & Enjoy!

  • Transfer to a serving bowl and enjoy with tortilla chips, fresh vegetables, or as a topping for your favorite dishes.

Notes

  • For extra heat, keep the jalapeño seeds or add a dash of hot sauce.
  • Grill time may vary depending on your heat level—just look for nice char marks!
  • Pairs perfectly with grilled meats, tacos, or even breakfast eggs.
