Description

This Authentic Greek Chicken Souvlaki is juicy, flavorful, and perfectly grilled, making it an easy and delicious main dish for Easter, summer BBQs, or Mediterranean-inspired dinners. Marinated in olive oil, lemon, garlic, and aromatic herbs, these Greek-style chicken skewers are served with pita, tzatziki, and fresh veggies for a truly authentic Greek experience!

Ingredients

Units Scale
  • 2 lbs chicken breast, cut into cubes
  • 1/4 cup olive oil
  • 2 tbsp lemon juice
  • 3 garlic cloves, minced
  • 1 tsp dried oregano
  • 1 tsp dried thyme
  • 1/2 tsp paprika
  • Salt & black pepper to taste
  • Metal or wooden skewers (soaked if wooden)

Instructions

  1. In a bowl, whisk together olive oil, lemon juice, garlic, oregano, thyme, paprika, salt, and pepper.
  2. Add chicken cubes, toss to coat, and marinate for at least 1 hour (overnight for best flavor).
  3. Thread the marinated chicken onto skewers.
  4. Preheat grill to medium-high heat and cook skewers for 10-12 minutes, turning occasionally, until golden brown and cooked through.
  5. Serve hot with pita, tzatziki sauce, and fresh veggies. Enjoy!

Notes

  • For extra tenderness, use boneless chicken thighs instead of breast.
  • If using wooden skewers, soak them for 30 minutes to prevent burning.
  • Pair with Greek salad, roasted potatoes, or hummus for a complete meal.
