Description

These Frozen Chocolate Covered Bananas are the perfect guilt-free dessert—creamy banana bites coated in smooth dark or milk chocolate, with optional toppings like nuts, coconut, or sprinkles. They’re super easy to make, kid-friendly, and ideal for summer snacking or a quick sweet fix straight from the freezer!

Ingredients

Units Scale
  • 2 ripe bananas, sliced into 1-inch pieces
  • 1 1/2 cups dark or milk chocolate chips
  • 1 tablespoon coconut oil (optional, for smoother coating)
  • 1/4 cup chopped nuts, shredded coconut, or sprinkles (optional)

Instructions

  1. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Slice bananas into 1-inch rounds and arrange them on the baking sheet. Freeze for at least 1 hour until firm.
  3. In a microwave-safe bowl, melt chocolate chips and coconut oil in 20-second intervals, stirring until smooth.
  4. Using a fork or toothpick, dip each frozen banana slice into the melted chocolate to coat completely.
  5. If using toppings, sprinkle over bananas before the chocolate hardens.
  6. Place the chocolate-dipped bananas back on the baking sheet and freeze for another 30 minutes, or until fully set.
  7. Serve immediately, or transfer to an airtight container and store in the freezer for up to 2 weeks.

Notes

  • Use overripe bananas for extra sweetness.
  • Dark chocolate adds a richer taste, while milk chocolate gives a creamier texture.
  • Perfect as a make-ahead dessert or healthy snack on hot days!
