- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.

Make the Dough:
- In a bowl, whisk together the flour and salt.
- In another large bowl, beat the butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
- Add the egg, vanilla extract, and almond extract (if using), mixing well.
- Gradually add the flour mixture, stirring until a smooth dough forms.

Shape the Cookies:
- Roll the dough into 1-inch balls and place them on the prepared baking sheet, spacing them about 2 inches apart.
- Use a small spoon or your finger to create five petal-shaped indentations around each cookie, leaving the center slightly raised.

- Spoon a small amount of jam into each petal indentation.
- Roll a tiny piece of dough into a small ball and place it in the center to complete the flower shape.

- Bake for 12-15 minutes, or until the edges are lightly golden.
- Allow cookies to cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely.
