Description

These Pistachio Cream Puff Pastry Twists are a delightful combination of buttery, flaky layers and sweet pistachio cream, twisted into elegant golden pastries.   • 1/2 cup pistachio paste (or finely ground pistachios mixed with 2 tbsp honey)
  • 1/4 cup powdered sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/4 teaspoon cardamom (optional, for extra depth)
  • 1 egg (for egg wash)
  • 2 tablespoons chopped pistachios (for garnish)
  • 1 tablespoon honey or powdered sugar (for topping)

Instructions

  1. Preheat Oven & Prepare Baking Sheet

    • Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
    • Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Make the Pistachio Cream Filling

    • In a small bowl, mix pistachio paste, powdered sugar, vanilla extract, and cardamom until smooth.
  3. Prepare the Puff Pastry

    • Roll out the puff pastry slightly on a floured surface.
    • Spread an even layer of pistachio cream over half of the pastry.
    • Fold the other half over the filling and gently press down.
  4. Cut & Twist

    • Slice the pastry into ½-inch wide strips.
    • Twist each strip carefully and place on the lined baking sheet.
  5. Brush & Bake

    • Brush the twists with egg wash for a golden finish.
    • Bake for 15-18 minutes, or until golden brown and crispy.
  6. Garnish & Serve

    • Drizzle with honey or dust with powdered sugar.
    • Sprinkle with chopped pistachios for extra crunch.
