Seafood:
- 1/2 lb shrimp, peeled and deveined
- 1/2 lb crab meat
- 1/2 lb cooked lobster meat, chopped
Vegetables & Aromatics:
- 1 small onion, diced
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 celery stalk, diced
- 1 carrot, diced
Dairy & Broth:
- 3 tbsp butter
- 2 tbsp all-purpose flour
- 2 cups seafood broth (or fish stock)
Instructions
1. Sauté the Aromatics:
- In a large soup pot, melt butter over medium heat.
- Add onion, celery, carrot, and garlic, and sauté for 3-4 minutes, until softened and fragrant.
2. Make the Roux:
- Stir in flour, cooking for 1-2 minutes, until the mixture turns golden brown.
3. Add the Broth & Simmer:
- Gradually pour in seafood broth, stirring constantly to avoid lumps.
- Bring to a simmer and cook for 10 minutes, allowing the flavors to meld.
4. Add the Seafood:
- Stir in shrimp, crab, and lobster, cooking for 5 minutes, or until the shrimp turns pink and opaque.
5. Blend & Serve: (Optional for a smoother bisque)
- For a creamy texture, use an immersion blender to partially blend the soup, leaving some chunks of seafood intact.
- Season with salt and pepper to taste.
- Serve hot with crusty bread or a side salad.

- For an extra creamy bisque, add ½ cup heavy cream before serving.
- Enhance flavor with a splash of white wine while simmering the broth.
