- 1 head cabbage, sliced and chopped
- Kosher salt and freshly ground black pepper, to taste
Instructions
- Cook the Bacon:
- Heat a large pan over medium heat and cook the bacon until crispy.
- Remove the bacon with a slotted spoon and place it on a paper towel-lined plate.
- Drain off some of the bacon grease, leaving about 2 tablespoons in the pan.
- Sauté the Onions:
- Add the diced onion to the pan and sauté for 2-3 minutes, or until translucent.
- Add Garlic and Spices:
- Stir in the minced garlic, stone ground mustard, smoked paprika, salt, and pepper. Cook for 1-2 minutes until fragrant.
- Cook the Cabbage:
- Add the sliced cabbage to the pan.
- Use tongs or a large spoon to stir and sauté the cabbage for 12-15 minutes, or until it is buttery soft and slightly caramelized.
- Combine and Serve:
- Toss the crispy bacon back into the pan and stir everything together.
- Serve immediately as a flavorful side dish.
