Description

Ingredients

  • 3 lbs russet potatoes, thinly sliced
  • 1 large onion, thinly sliced
  • 6 slices bacon, cooked and crumbled
  • 2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  • Preheat & Prep:

    • Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
    • Thinly slice the potatoes and onions.
  • Layer the Ingredients:

    • In a Dutch oven, arrange a layer of sliced potatoes at the bottom.
    • Add a layer of onions, bacon, and cheese.
    • Repeat the layers until all ingredients are used.
  • Season & Add Cream:

    • Pour the heavy cream evenly over the layers.
    • Sprinkle with garlic powder, smoked paprika, salt, and pepper.
    • Dot the top with butter for extra richness.
  • Bake the Potatoes:

    • Cover the Dutch oven with its lid and bake for 45 minutes.
    • Remove the lid, sprinkle with the remaining cheese, and bake uncovered for 15 more minutes, or until golden and bubbly.
  • Serve & Enjoy:

    • Let the potatoes cool slightly before serving.
