For the Steak Bites
- 2 lbs stew beef (or sirloin, cut into bite-sized pieces)
- 4 cloves garlic, minced
- 1/2 tsp dried oregano
- 1 tbsp cornstarch
- 1 tbsp sesame oil
For the Honey Garlic Sauce
- 1/2 cup honey
- 1/2 cup ketchup
- 1/2 cup low-sodium soy sauce
For Garnish
- Sesame seeds, for topping
- Fresh parsley or scallions, chopped (optional)
Instructions
- Prepare the Steak Bites – Pat stew beef dry with a paper towel and place in the crockpot.
- Make the Sauce – In a bowl, whisk together honey, ketchup, soy sauce, minced garlic, and oregano. Pour over the steak bites.
- Slow Cook – Cover and cook on LOW for 4 hours or HIGH for 2½ hours, until the beef is tender.
- Thicken the Sauce – In a small bowl, mix 1 tbsp cornstarch with 2 tbsp water to make a slurry. Stir into the crockpot and cook for 15 more minutes, or until the sauce thickens.
- Serve & Garnish – Sprinkle with sesame seeds and fresh parsley or scallions. Serve over rice, noodles, or steamed vegetables.
Notes
- For extra richness, sear the steak bites in a skillet with 1 tbsp butter before adding them to the crockpot.
- Storage: Refrigerate leftovers in an airtight container for up to 3 days. Reheat gently in a skillet or microwave.
