Description
These air fryer French fries are crispy on the outside, fluffy on the inside, and packed with bold flavors—made with less oil but all the crunch!
Ingredients
Scale
- 3 large russet potatoes (or Yukon Gold)
- 2 tbsp olive oil
- 1 tsp garlic powder
- 1 tsp smoked paprika
- 1/2 tsp onion powder
- 1/2 tsp salt (adjust to taste)
- 1/2 tsp black pepper
- 1/4 tsp cayenne pepper (optional, for spice)
- Fresh parsley (for garnish, optional)
Instructions
1. Prep the Potatoes:
- Wash and peel (optional) the potatoes.
- Cut into thin fries (about ¼-inch thick).
- Soak in cold water for 30 minutes to remove excess starch (this helps them get extra crispy!).
- Drain and pat dry completely with a paper towel.
2. Season the Fries:
- In a bowl, toss fries with olive oil and the seasoning mix (garlic powder, paprika, onion powder, salt, black pepper, and cayenne if using).
3. Air Fry to Perfection:
- Preheat the air fryer to 380°F (193°C).
- Arrange fries in a single layer in the air fryer basket (cook in batches if needed).
- Air fry for 15-18 minutes, shaking the basket halfway through, until golden and crispy.
4. Serve & Enjoy:
- Garnish with fresh parsley.
- Serve hot with dipping sauces like garlic aioli, ketchup, or cheese sauce!
Notes
- Extra Crispy Tip: After soaking, dry the potatoes very well to get the best crunch.
- Oil Alternative: Swap olive oil for avocado oil for a higher smoke point.
- Cheesy Twist: Sprinkle with grated Parmesan after cooking for extra flavor!
