- 1/2 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
- 1 large tomato, sliced
- 4 oz fresh mozzarella, sliced
- 1/4 cup fresh basil, chopped
- 1 tbsp olive oil
- 1 tbsp balsamic glaze
- 1/2 tsp garlic powder
- 1/4 tsp salt
- 1/4 tsp black pepper
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C).
- Roll out puff pastry onto a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
- Sprinkle shredded mozzarella evenly over the pastry. Layer with tomato slices and fresh mozzarella.
- Drizzle olive oil over the top and season with garlic powder, salt, and black pepper.
- Bake for 15-18 minutes, or until the pastry is golden brown and crispy.
- Remove from the oven and garnish with fresh basil. Drizzle with balsamic glaze before serving.
Notes
- Make it extra crispy: For an even flakier crust, prick the puff pastry with a fork before adding toppings.
- Prevent sogginess: Pat the tomato slices with a paper towel before layering them on the pastry to reduce excess moisture.
- Cheese variation: Swap fresh mozzarella for burrata or provolone for a different texture and taste.
