For the Meatballs:
- 1 lb ground beef (80/20 blend)
- 1 lb ground pork
- 1 cup fresh breadcrumbs (or panko)
- 1/2 cup whole milk
- 2 large eggs
- 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 4 cloves garlic, minced
- 1/4 cup fresh parsley, chopped
- 1/2 tsp red pepper flakes (optional)
- 1 tsp kosher salt
- 1/2 tsp black pepper
- Olive oil, for frying
For the Sauce:
- 2 tbsp olive oil
- 1 small onion, finely chopped
- 4 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 (28 oz) can crushed San Marzano tomatoes
- 1/2 tsp red pepper flakes (optional)
- 1/2 tsp dried oregano
- Salt & pepper, to taste
- Fresh basil leaves, for garnish
- Grated Parmesan, for serving

- Breadcrumb Tip: Fresh breadcrumbs provide a softer texture, but panko works well for a slightly firmer meatball.
